Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Apple Watch workout not appear in the plan?

RunCoachSync links HealthKit workouts to plan days by matching date and duration. Make sure the workout completed on your Watch has finished syncing to the Health app. Pull to refresh the workout list to trigger a re-scan.

What is a Race Journey?

A Race Journey is a multi-phase training program automatically built from your race date. It sequences base-building, build, and race-specific phases back-to-back so you arrive at the start line prepared. Set your race date and distance and the app calculates everything.

How is readiness score calculated?

Readiness is derived from recent resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and training load relative to your rolling baseline — all sourced from Apple Health. A score above 70 generally indicates you're recovered and ready for quality work; below 50 suggests prioritising easy runs or rest.

Why does the "Resting HR baseline" say not ready?

The readiness engine needs at least 7 days of resting HR data before and after your plan start to establish a baseline for comparison. If your Apple Watch is new or you recently switched devices, this will resolve after a week of wear data. The app looks back 8 weeks before your plan start date for prior baseline data.

Can I use RunCoachSync without an Apple Watch?

Yes. You can create and manage training plans, log runs manually, and view plan progress without a Watch. Apple Watch is required for live workout guidance and automatic HealthKit workout linking.

How do I share a plan with a runner I coach?

Switch to the Coach profile, open the plan, tap the share icon, and enter the runner's Apple ID. They'll receive a CloudKit share invitation. Once accepted, the plan appears in their RunCoachSync app under their Runner profile.

I missed a workout. What should I do?

Open the plan on the missed day and tap "Log missed workout." RunCoachSync will offer adjustment proposals — reschedule, reduce the next workout, or absorb the miss — based on where you are in the plan.

How do I delete all my data?

Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove iCloud-stored plans and settings, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → RunCoachSync → Delete Data.
